ITG's independent status allows us to focus on producing high quality research. Clients can count on our incentives being aligned with creating value.
Staffing for our energy research resembles an acquisition/divestiture group at a producing company, including professional engineers, engineering technicians and financial analysts. Bench strength is a key differentiator of our service – among our employees are people who have run oil and gas companies, drilled wells, operated facilities, evaluated reserves and closed deals. We bring decades of practical technical and operational experience when we evaluate oil and gas investment opportunities.
Perspective is everything. We have evaluated almost every play across North America in the last decade, allowing us to understand assets in relation to one another. This is a complex industry requiring us to take a forensic, technical approach in our evaluations. When determining the economics or value of a specific opportunity, we start with a geologic profile, supplemented with production, completion and log data when available. Additionally, we lean on the relationships we have built within industry to understand what’s happening in the field.
We weigh several factors when we assess upside valuation, including leasehold (and the portion amenable to development), spacing and activity level. Our fundamental analysis culminates in a rig-driven development program for each of the company’s growth prospects. Once we determine the economic viability of a representative sample of wells, we compile capital, lease operating expenses, debt and regulatory burdens to evaluate the quality of a company’s prospect inventory within our proprietary models.
We thrive on constant interaction with clients as two-way information flow ultimately provides enhanced insight and more value. Regular contact helps us refine and deliver more precisely what individual clients need to make informed investment decisions, which in turn makes our clients that much better investors.
Some clients prefer to read reports, some prefer to talk to authors or experts, and others want access to all the raw data behind our analysis. Regardless of how it happens, clients consistently make it clear that they value highly their access to our deeply experienced group of analysts.
